What a perfect architectural element to use in your library, home or hunt box. It is English and dates to 1892. It is in excellent antique condition and measures 15 3/4" x 11 3/4" and would fit so beautifully in stone, brick or simply hang as a focal point. This coat of arms may be for the Aubrey-Fletcher baronets of England. It is captioned, "Martis non Cupididis" at the base, "War Not Love" along with the elements indicating this crest was of a family who either went to war or would go to war for the protection of the crown. It is capped with a horse's bust with an arrow, the shield contains a cross with an arrowhead in each field. It is well and deeply hand carved and an outstanding addition to any decor. Anyone who appreciates hand carving, antiques and European history would hold this in high regard. Shipping insurance is recommended. Please call or email for information.
