This wonderful royal horse guards cap badge made by Firmin of London dates from the reign of King George V of England (1910-1936), grandfather to Queen Elizabeth II. The history of the guards dates to the 17th century, and remained a part of the cavalry until 1969 when they combined with the Royal Dragoons becoming the Blues and Royals. This badge is made of brass, reads "Royal Horse Guards", boasts the royal crown, and contains the initials for the king, GR. This is truly an Anglophile collector's jewel.
