This door knocker would make any fox hunter smile. The song, Do Ye Keen John Peel? is synonymous with fox hunting in England and here he is "with his horse and his hounds in the morning". As Peel presses on with his hunting, little does he know that the fox is hiding on the strike plate just under his hounds. The fox hunting scene is surrounded by a horse shoe and topped with a sheath of wheat. It measures 5 1/2" tall and 3 1/4" wide and is solid brass.
