We were amazed when we learned of this whip and were able to acquire it. This vintage hunt whip was created by the late David Rhea, a Middle Tennessee artisan whose wife was a fox hunter. There is not another like it. The horse head cap is sterling silver, and the shaft, a WWII swagger stick, is constructed of ebony, and has five strong stainless steel or pewter bands. The entire whip is 24 3/4" long. The sterling horse head form cap is 1 3/4" from nose to mane and the same measurement from the ears to its base. It has a wonderful weight and balance and the entire whip, including the threading and leather are in very good condition. What a statement piece to display in your home while not being used in the hunt field!
