This is a wonderful antique set of sterling silver and English metal shoehorn and button hooks. They are in nearly perfect condition. The set is hallmarked for Birmingham, England, 1913, and maker's marked for Adie and Lovekin. This firm opened in 1863 and operated until sometime toward the end of the 1920's. The set is presented in its original leather and satin case that measures 8 1/4" long and has a brass snap closure that is tight. The shoehorn is 6 1/2" long, the long button hook, used to button boots, measures about the same and the petite hook measures 3" long including the loop that would have been attached to a ladies chatelaine (think Swiss Army Knife for the Victorian/Edwardian period). A set of three is rare and coveted by collectors everywhere.
