The carving on this crystal is so lifelike that when turned and viewed from the side, the quail look like they are actually flying. They are remarkable, one of our favorite pieces. From a Florida collection, this nearly perfect c. 1920 brooch is a reverse carved and painted crystal encased in a 14 kt yellow gold frame. The base of the frame is adorned with a cluster of rushes, such an outstanding touch. It measures 1" tall by 1 1/4" wide. It is marked with a capital N inside a circle. We believe the maker to be F.H. Noble. The claps closes smoothly and securely. What a wonderful piece for the bird hunter or watcher to own.
