Cellar - Silver Over Metal Meriden Britannia Company Fox Base Antique

The Meriden Britannia Company in Connecticut was started in 1852 winning highest honors for plated wares. Many of their prized pieces are found in museums and in shows in America and England. Wouldn't you love to make this your own? This wonderful silver plated cellar, dating prior to 1898 measures 3 3/4" long and 2" tall, and what is so unusual is that the base is of two sitting foxes holding the scalloped cellar. A fox hunter would love this!  It could be used for guests soaps, salt, or a unique piece for temporarily holding jewelry. It is truly an eye catching find.
