This is a wonderful gilt and sterling silver sugar spoon of the George V era. It is clearly hallmarked for Birmingham, England, 1922 with the makers mark, WJD for William James Dingley. The gilded cap of the spoon is an intricate interwoven cartouche of the letters E & S possibly. Just beneath the cap is a fox mask and the handle is that of a hunt whip topping a gilded spoon bowl. The spoon is 5" long, weighs a substantial 16.2 grams, and is in outstanding condition. This is one of the most unique pieces that we have in our store. It would be a welcome addition to your table and an outstanding conversation starter. What a wonderful gift it would make!
